The first nature strip is on its way to regeneration. After selecting two areas, we started removing the grass and loosening up the soil.
After some hard work, it was time for a rest. Thanks, Judith, for the lovely cake!
After a lot more hard work digging out the second area, a cardboard and newspaper layer was added to discourage grass from regrowing. Then some fresh soil was added on top.
Finally it was topped off with a layer of mulch. Now it’s all ready to go when we get some good planting weather.
And it was time for the weary workers to head home. Thanks, Shirley, for letting us use your nature strip and for your hard work helping the group.
